President, Julie Luster-Roell

I have considered Delaware Township home most of my life having graduated from DTS and making lifelong friendships in the classrooms. My family and I moved to Rosemont in 2010. My daughter is in middle school. Since she began at DTS, I have served on PiE’s Board as Treasurer, Recording Secretary, VP for Fundraising, and now as President. During the day, I work at Princeton University in grant accounting.

In my spare time, I treasure adventures with my daughter, spending time with friends and family, and walking along our beautiful Township roads. I look forward to working with all the volunteers at DTS and look forward to making new memories!!!

Middle School VP, Danielle HartDorn

In 2017, my family was lucky enough to move to Delaware Township. We chose Delaware Township because of the sense of community and the reputation of the pre k-8 school district. We have loved watching our son, Reece, flourish in school and participate in Delaware Township sports. I am a Den Leader for Reece’s Cub Scout pack and I’ve also been a Homeroom Partner for the last two years. I have been a 4th grade teacher in Montgomery Township for over 20 years.

My family enjoys hiking with our rescue dog, playing sports and traveling to see family. I have a passion for education and I am looking forward to serving on the Board.

Elementary School VP, Debra Lubitz

As a DTS alumni and a parent to two Wildcats, this school, its students and staff are close to my heart.  Having my own mother active at Delaware Township School while growing up I learned just how important it is to have active volunteers to bring meaningful and memorable events here. When my oldest started here two years ago I instantly jumped into PiE attending meetings, becoming a Homeroom partner and volunteering for as many activities as possible. I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve on the PiE board as the Elementary School VP for next year where, along with Danielle, I will identify and bring exciting assemblies to DTS.

In addition to serving on the PiE board, I am a co-leader for two Girl Scout troops and a Meals on Wheels volunteer driver. In our downtime, my family and I love hosting impromptu get togethers for our family and friends and spending time with our two rescue dogs.

Fundraising VP, Dawn MacDonald

I have been a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County. Seven years ago, my husband and I were grateful our son was chosen as a choice student at Delaware Township School.  Residing in the area for so long, we always knew we wanted our children to attend the school. We now have two boys, grades 4th and 1st, in the district and are so happy we made the decision to place them at DTS. The school’s core values and town’s close-knit community is exactly what we hoped for.

I have been a Homeroom Partner for the past six years and have recently started subbing at the school. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Being part of the PiE Board is very fulfilling as I enjoy finding different ways to keep our children engaged through the everchanging times.

Recording Secretary, Olena Brophy

This will be my first year serving on the PiE Board, and when the opportunity came, I warmly accepted this nomination! I have been a resident of Delaware Township for 13 years. I have three children currently attending Delaware Township School: one boy, Cullan, who will be going into 4th grade, and twin girls, Angelina and Kalina, who will be going into 3rd grade. I have been a homeroom partner and a substitute teacher at DTS ever since my children began Kindergarten, and I have been volunteering for most of their school events. I really enjoy being involved in their lives at school and appreciate the opportunity to be part of this amazing community of parents!

I have a teaching degree in Linguistics and Literature from Donetsk National University in Ukraine, and my parents, grandparents and grand-grand parents have ALL been educators. My 84-year-old father is still teaching Organic Chemistry at the same university in Ukraine where both my sister and I graduated from.  When I came to this country over 20 years ago, I temporarily switched gears and received a Master’s degree in financial management and for over ten years worked in the Financial Services industry. After I had a family and children, I decided to go back to my initial calling. I enjoy nothing more than watching the kids learn and grow and being proud of their accomplishments.

Since having children, I have passionately been taking these baby steps (literally) by founding and leading a Story Hour reading program for preschool children at Rutgers Nursery since 2017 and have seen this grow into a well-loved event by many children and their parents and grandparents in the community. It’s something I am proud of and is one of my greatest joys. I look forward to serving on the Board as Recording Secretary and bringing that same joy and energy to the students at Delaware Township School and fulfilling my passion for improving our children’s lives at school!

Corresponding Secretary, Jenna Haxton

My family and I moved to Delaware Township in 2019. We immediately fell in love with the town and the people who live here.  We have two boys who are students in the school.  Bentley is in 4th grade and Oliver is in 2nd grade.  I have been a PiE Homeroom partner since my boys have started at the school and this is my first year on the Board. I am the owner of Haxton Homestead here in Delaware Township which keeps me busy but gives me the flexibility to volunteer with PiE.

In our free time our family loves to go camping and exploring what Hunterdon County has to offer.  I look forward to serving as Corresponding Secretary.

Treasurer, Cindy Russo

After living in Delaware Township for over 12 years now, I feel honored to call this hidden gem my home. I grew up across the river in Bucks County, and moved to New Jersey with my husband in 2006. Our home in Delaware Township has welcomed our two children, 7th and 4th graders at DTS, many loving pets, and a wonderful family of friends from the community. We have been involved with many school events, sports, and activities throughout the community and I am excited to be able to give back.

I have been a high school math teacher at Bridgewater Raritan School District for 17 years. As an educator myself I understand the importance of community involvement and support. I truly believe it takes a village, and I am proud to be an integral part of the village here at DTS. I look forward to serving as treasurer on the PiE Board and continuing the spirit of community embodied in Delaware Township.
